Here Is Why You Should Read At least 2–3 Books Every Week

Some people prefer watching a movie over reading a book because staring at the television screen or laptop seems painless than stressing upon the words on a book. And people will easily say, most of the successful movies are based on the books, which we didn't know the books itself existed in the first place. And once the movie is over you are never bothered to read that particular book because you know the storyline or you’re lazy to flip at a book.

Well, I’m totally the opposite. I saw Game of Thrones the first five seasons and my brain was scrutinized to grasp the entire backstory of every character. So I decided to read the books, and I was flattered by how the author was able to write ferociously. I bought all five books at a stretch and I will never forget my excitement on that day. I was enchanted by the strategy of how GRRM could deliberate and outline the story in the most gut-wrenching mechanism. Sadly we never got Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring books to date. And I don’t even want to rage about the television series after season five. Anyways my hostility didn’t cease there, I went on board and bought Fire and Blood book, it is the history of the Targareyans.

Most of the books I’ve read have already been released as movies, but I see to that I read the books before watching the movie. My current read is The Shining by Stephen King. Though the movie was released in the 1980s, it is praised by critics as one of the best horror movies of all time. Also, the book is contemplated as the best horror novel of all time. I haven’t seen the movie yet, and I won’t watch it unless and until I have completed the book. Maybe I will watch for Jack Nicholson’s performance.

Or if it happens vice-versa, and if I’m galvanized with the storyline, I go back to the library and borrow the books to read and see how the author has expressed the story from his/her perspective.

When I was in high school, I used to take two months to complete one novel. In college, I didn’t have the time to prioritize reading books. It was after college that I learned to compute my time in reading books. Eventually, I perceived that how reading books will change your everyday habits and build healthy routines.

  • Your way of thinking just changes drastically.
  • Your thinking process will alter you into a creative person.
  • We human beings often listen to other people’s conversations to reply, but we never think or remark their words. You will flourish the habit to listen to other people’s wordings in silence.
  • Oh, and, auscultation of these conversations will succor us to bear in mind what is useful to you and propel you away from the other things. Unlike where other people will take things of the society’s opinion very seriously.
  • You will accomplish inner peace.
  • You will understand the value of productivity.
  • You will start prioritizing your time to learn new skills.
  • Your knowledge will heighten at greater strengthens.
  • Your vocabulary will improve.
  • You will be motivated to write complex structures.
  • Your confidence will destroy the fear of public speaking. (I’m not sure whether this works for everyone, but it has worked for me)
  • Your fluency will revamp.
  • You will learn the mantra to focus and concentrate on your goals.

So if you haven't read a single book in your life also it’s okay. You can start today too. It’s never too late to start anything new. Or if you need any suggestions I will give a list of author names. You can begin with Agatha Christie, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, J.K.Rowling, Enid Blyton, and R.L.Stine.

Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those who mind don’t matter and those you matter, don't mind.
